Secretly Windows 7 Will Be Destroyed, Here's Why

Microsoft is rumored to be ending the Windows 7 operating system support on some personal computer devices (PCs). Reports show that long-lived Intel PCs no longer get the latest patches.

It's no secret that Microsoft wants Windows 7 to disappear and users switch to Windows 10. But at least theoretically, the company can not do anything until January 2020, when the support for the 2009 birth operating system is officially over.

Meltdown and Specter so the reason? Maybe so. Although Microsoft promises improvements every month since the case stuck out. The monthly rollup in June 2018 introduces a new policy that requires users to upgrade machines with processors that support SSE2 or virtualize those machines.

Microsoft seems to give up to address the bugs that were originally introduced during the March update and now require users to upgrade their systems to newer hardware. This is to avoid problems caused by Meltdown and Specter.

If so, that means, users who do not upgrade hardware, then can no longer receive updates. Apparently, although support for Windows 7 is technically projected to end in 2020. But it is currently possible that the new policy has been introduced because the Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities affect Intel chips.

Just for information, Windows 7 operating system is a fresh breeze for PC users at that time. Windows 7 comes after Windows Vista is considered a failure. At least within six months since the 2009 release, Windows 7 has 100 million licensed installations.

Then the figure increases in 2012 with a swell to 630 million. In fact, although Windows 7 is considered old, the software remains king until January this year. Now, Windows 10 ultimately exceeds the installation numbers in the global desktop user market share.

Windows 10 is the new king with the most number, but Windows 7 holds a stable second place almost for nine years after the prime is released to the user. In addition, Windows 7 also remains the dominant OS for desktops in Asia and Africa. Then will Bill Gates pioneering technology company really be 'inject dead' Windows 7? We look forward to it
